We know that every punter is different, and so they will be looking for different things in their betting sites. That means that we have different criteria in mind when we rank sites for different customers. For those that are looking for the best snooker bookmakers, here’s how we rank those sites and help you find the best one for you.
Availability of snooker markets: The very first thing we are looking for when it comes to a good snooker bookmaker, is the availability of snooker markets on the site. There are two specifics that we are looking for here, both good market depth in snooker markets, as well as offerings for both pre game and in play markets. This is one of the main aspects that we are looking for, as if you are a snooker fan, you want to be able to make all of your bets on the same site. As such, we are looking for sites that can give you all of the markets you want in the same place.
Good value odds on snooker bets: As well as a good range of snooker markets, you want to see that any good betting site gives you excellent odds on those bets too. That’s something that we are looking for when we rank snooker betting websites. It’s important to check this as many best betting sites will show top odds, but they need to be showing good value odds across all of their markets, including snooker. We will check them against some of their biggest competitors online right now, to see if they can offer odds that are favourable to you as a member. If they can offer good odds on snooker, that helps them gain a higher ranking overall.
Snooker related promos: When checking out any bookmaker, you will often see that they have promos that relate to certain sports that they cover. While the vast majority will cover larger sports like football and horse racing, you want to find promos that actually give you something extra on snooker bets. That is something that we look for when we are ranking a betting site, as we want you to get the most out of your bets too. The first thing we look at is the welcome offer that the site provides. If you have decided that you like the snooker markets here, and you want to sign up with the site, then they should have a good bonus available to you. This should give you a good free bet to use on the site, so you can give them a try. To rank highly as a snooker betting website, that bonus needs to be able to be used on snooker markets. It should also be good value, and have terms and conditions that are reasonable to you as the new member. As well as the welcome offer, you should find good snooker related promos available to you once you are a member. If a site is able to offer these, then that will help them rank higher. Of course, there can be other promos that aren’t tied to any specific sport, which you will be able to take advantage of where it comes to your snooker bets. If these are available as well, then this will help their ranking as well.
Payment systems: To be ranked highly as a snooker betting site, then any bookmaker site we review needs to have good systems in place. That includes having an easy-to-use payment system, that allows you as a new member to get up and running quickly. We look for sites that offer quick withdrawals, so you will never be waiting long until you can get your winnings on your snooker bets. We also look for sites that accept a larger range of payment options. This ensures that you will have lots of choice, and use the option that suits you best. We will also look for certain payment options such as PayPal, as they are known to only work with highly reputable betting sites.
Great betting features: As there are so many betting sites on the market right now, if you are looking for a snooker specific bookmaker, they have to have something special to offer you. When we check out snooker bookmakers, we look for features that they can offer that you perhaps may not get elsewhere. For example, we look for features such as live streaming. That’s not something that every betting site can bring you, and if you want to follow the action during a snooker game, then having access to a live stream will help a lot. We also look for other key features, such as a bet builders to help you create the best bet for you, as well as the option to cash out a bet at any time should you want to. If a site is able to bring you unique features, that helps them rank more highly overall.
Betting site reputation: When looking into all of the above features, we are keeping the reputation of the betting site in mind. As you have your pick of snooker bookmakers, you want to be sure that you are going with the one that has the best overall reputation with their members. To do this, we look at what past and current members are saying about the service in question, to see how they feel about the service they have received. This will influence how we review other features of the site, such as the value of their snooker odds, as well as how easy it is to make transactions here. Overall, we aim to rank sites highly if they have good reputations, and ensure their members feel secure betting there.
As you can see, we do a lot of work into ensuring we only recommend the best snooker bookmakers. With the above criteria in mind, we look to see that any given bookmaker can give you exactly what you want in terms of snooker betting.

What are Irish snooker betting sites?
Snooker is a game that was invented by the British Army while based overseas in India. It’s a game that is not as widely spread around the world as other sports, yet it still has many opportunities for punters to bet on. With an average of 6 million fans that tune into the World Championships, it’s still a worthwhile sport for those in Ireland and elsewhere.
So, as you can probably imagine, Irish snooker betting sites are certain bookmakers that allow the betting of snooker matches and events for customers located in Ireland. Since each country has slightly different rules regarding betting and gambling, not every bookmaker in every country will offer the same sports. Snooker, being a British sport, with the majority of its following located within Ireland and the UK is therefore available on multiple betting platforms for residents of those two countries.
Understanding the rules of Snooker
Before you start betting on any sport you need to understand the basic fundamentals of the game in question. When it comes to Irish snooker betting sites you won’t always find the rules of a sport on the site itself. So it’s always worth doing the research separately. The rules of snooker are quite straightforward and it doesn’t take people long to get the hang of it.
Aim of the game:
Generally speaking, there are 2 players in a game of snooker. The objective is to put a red ball in first, then a coloured ball, then a coloured ball, and so on. The balls are pocketed one by one in this red-coloured sequence. If you don’t manage to pocket the proper ball, the other team’s turn will now be played.

Using a snooker cue each, both players must use the white ball to hit the 15 red balls into the pockets as well as the 6 other coloured balls. Each of the coloured balls is worth a different number of points which I have outlined in the table below.
Red balls are worth the lowest value of 1 point each, where as the one pink ball is valued at 6 points. There is also a black ball which (similar to pool and other table games) is the ball to end the match.
Common betting markets
If you’re getting eager to start betting on snooker using Irish snooker betting sites, you should probably have a look at the the various markets available so you can decide which style of betting you prefer.
If you’re a beginner and new to understanding snooker then the best thing to do is start small and simple with a straight forward bet on the overall match result:
Match result
This is probably the easiest bet to make and understand as it is simply betting on which player wins the individual match
Once you get a little bit more courage and are ready to dive in a little bit deeper ,then you can consider making bets that are a tiny bit more complicated. Take a look at these next two betting markets that punter regularly bet on:
Handicap result
Similar to the match result, a handicap bet is when you think about betting on a player to win but giving them a deficit at the beginning. Usually this is done if one player is already at a much higher advantage. The deficit puts the players on a more even chance.
Over/Under (frame betting)
A frame in snooker is the same as a goal in football. It’s what each team aims to get. These stand in for the points that a snooker player scores over a match. A frame resembles a “round” in the game, and you can wager on how many “rounds” will be played in a particular snooker contest. In a typical snooker event, the player needs to win six frames to go past the first round. So, you are able to bet on whether or not you think the match will go over or under the specified frame amount to potentially earn some winnings.
If you are now ready to try your luck at some more bets that are even more complicated, you can do so using specials bets. Check these out below:
Specials bets
You can bet on who will pot the opening ball of a given frame or on the colour of the opening coloured ball to be downed. Similar “yes/no” options exist for live snooker betting, including “will there be a 50+ break during the frame” and “will there be 100 or more total points scored during a particular frame.”
Largest events and tournaments in Snooker
As with any sport, there are various large tournaments that players aim to reach. Winning these tournaments is one of the best awards that a player can earn and is one of the highest statuses’ they can achieve in the sport. Before you start betting on snooker you should be aware of the most popular sporting events in the snooker industry as these will highly likely be the sports you too, end up placing wagers on.
As with many sports, there is a clear divide between the coverage between women’s events and men’s events. Men’s events often end up overshadowing the women’s matches so there tends to be fewer fans of the women’s circuits due to not being as readily available to watch.
Below I have listed the 3 largest tournaments in snooker but that’s not to say they are the only ones, the others are just much smaller. Plus, comparable to the Grand Slam in tennis, there is a Triple Crown award in the snooker world awarded to those players who successfully win all three competitions.

What to look for in Irish snooker betting sites
Before you start betting, it is always worth knowing what features specifically, you should be looking for in a site. With so many bookmakers on the market (as we discussed above) it can be overwhelming when trying to narrow them down. You have to look for certain features when looking for the best Irish snooker betting site in the market.
Available markets
Does the site you are considering have all of the markets you would like to bet on? If you have a market in mind already then it makes sense that you would need to make sure you are able to actually bet on it using the chosen bookmaker.
Extra features
Does the bookmaker have any of the features that you would like to use, such as in-play betting, bet builders or early cash out? Knowing what way you would like to make your bets and knowing which platforms allow you to bet in that way can really enhance your experience. Not every site has the same features so it’s always worth your time to know which site offers what feature.
Does the site have a lot of coverage of the events?
If the site you want doesn’t cover the particular event that you are interested in then you might struggle to find the match or markets as well. Always make sure you check what’s available.
Do they have licences and a good reputation?
All of the sites that I have recommended above have a great reputation and are some of the most loved Irish snooker betting sites out there, however, they are not the only ones. When looking for your own site to use make sure to check their licencing to make sure they are legally operating as well as research their reputation so you don’t end up with a questionable site.
What payment methods are available?
Some Irish snooker betting sites only have one or two payment methods whereas others might have closer to 5 or 6 ways to pay. Oftentimes you might be limited to a certain few bookmakers if you can only pay in one way.
Do they offer promotions?
Promotions are one of the main ways bookmakers stand out from the competition and you can often benefit from these offers. Always make sure to look at all offers available to take advantage of and give yourself the best opportunity to earn bigger winnings for the same bet
Snooker odds
Odds are another huge feature you should look at because they can drastically differ from site to site. You can plan on making the same value bet of a 10 Euro stake, and you’ll find that some sites will have 2.0 odds and others might have 2.2 odds. This one bet can have completely different potential winnings if the odds are vastly different. It’s always worth comparing to get the most competitive odds.
